Muriel Mueller has been teaching yoga since 2001 and has herself been a keen enthusiastic practitioner of many different styles since 1990. She qualified as a Diploma Yoga Teacher in 2002 with Ruth White/ Karuna Yoga (Yoga Alliance US, 500 hrs) and is an accredited Diploma Teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga, trained Pre and Post Natal Yoga teacher, completed the Foundation Course in Yoga Therapy with the Biomedical Trust / Life Centre, Reiki 1+2 and has been awarded the AQA accredited Advanced Certificate in Counselling.
Her style, although originally based in the Iyengar tradition, has been greatly influenced and inspired by her studies with world renowned teachers such as Sarah Powers, Donna Farhi, Dona Holleman, Aadil Palkhivala, Simon Low, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and Shiva Rea. Having combined ideas and approaches from several different sources Muriel’s teaching style has evolved into MuMuYoga, as she very much brings her own elements and discoveries into the practice room. Her teaching has recently been hugely inspired by her studies with Alexander Filmer-Lorch, who has created a unique, dynamic style of Flow yoga incorporating natural, fluid, pulsating movements that ‘train’ and lubricate the fascial body suit. Teacher training with him and lectures with Jo Avison brought upon a deeper understanding of the essential role that fascia plays in movement and Muriel very much uses this knowledge in her teachings and sequences.
She feels she can only teach and pass on to her students what has been her own experience and truth. Muriel is very passionate and wholehearted about yoga and teaching it and has great interest in empowering her students to take control and bring happiness, health and fulfilment into their lives.
